How we handle your data

Who we are

WaxTracker is a personal portfolio tracker for vinyl record collectors, built and operated by Hugo Emmerzael. You can reach us at waxtracker@proton.me.

What data we collect

• Discogs account infoYour username and numeric user ID, obtained when you connect via OAuth.
• OAuth tokensAccess token and secret that let WaxTracker read your Discogs collection. Stored encrypted in our database, never shared.
• Collection dataTitles, artists, formats, and purchase prices from your Discogs collection. Purchase prices are only stored if you enter them.
• Price snapshotsDaily marketplace prices fetched from Discogs for records in your collection. This data comes from Discogs, not from you directly.
• Billing informationIf you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID, and no card details ever touch our servers.

How we use your data

• To display your vinyl portfolio and price history inside WaxTracker.
• To fetch daily price updates from Discogs for records in your collection.
• To manage your Pro subscription via Stripe.

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Third-party services

Cookies and sessions

WaxTracker uses a session cookie (waxtracker_session) to keep you logged in, a secure HTTP-only JWT that expires after 30 days. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the app. No personal data from your Discogs collection is shared with Google Analytics.

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. Price snapshot history is retained indefinitely, since it is the core value of the app. If you disconnect your Discogs account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your account and all associated collection data within 30 days.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at waxtracker@proton.me. We will respond within 30 days.

You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of WaxTracker after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
